In this life, it is as complicated and as simple as this: Whose story do you want to be a part of? Some will say, "Why do I have to choose? Why can't I write my own story?" Fact of the matter is they can. They can choose not to choose and become a part of the cultural story of the time by accident rather than intention. They can write their own story, their own values, their own rewrites when that story gets away from them and it will. As for me, I choose to be a part of Jesus' story because I am already a part of his. I want to walk as he walked, loved as he loved, go where he goes. If that is a cop out, if that is giving up my individual freedom, if that is labeled as riding someone else's coattails, then so be it. I couldn't write a better story. Whose story do you want to be a part of?
