But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, “Know the Lord,” for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.

Near as I can tell there are basically two types of actors in Hollywood - those who are known as "difficult" and those who are known as "generous." One makes demands, constantly is the center of attention, and is often short-tempered. The other is non-anxious, self-assured and always willing to help the other actors and crew be the best at what they do. Truth is we are both difficult and generous, but if we were only known in one way or another - the way most of us would prefer to be known is generous. There are complexities and difficulties in our understanding of the nature of God, but God chooses to be known overwhelmingly in one way - generous in forgiving.

I have known your forgiveness, O God, may I be known to have your eyes. Amen.
