For the days of Holy Week, ELOGOS will be re-posts from my messages on my 40 Days of Lent Challenge Facebook page.
Holy Monday: Holy Ground FIG TREE.
Mark 11:24-25 “So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. ‘Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.’ The disciples were staring at a withered fig tree that Jesus had cursed earlier in the day. Perhaps the simplest answer is that he had to vent his frustration somewhere. But in a blink, he turns it into a teaching moment about the power and importance of forgiveness. Hours from the time of his death, Jesus stood by a withered fig tree getting his disciples ready to be forgiven and himself, ready to forgive. Challenge: Forgive someone. Know that God forgives you.
