Luke 12:32-34
Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give alms. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."  This verse takes me back to a time in church camp when I was a teenager.  Those words hovered in the air until I dared to breathe them in.  I marinated in those words and the words they generated from inside me:  where is my treasure? WHAT is my treasure?  What do I cherish and value? Does my heart follow the treasure or does my treasure follow my heart? Would my heart be embarrassed to sit beside that which I treasure? If I cherished the condition of my heart, I thought I'd better think carefully about what I treasured. I don't want my heart hanging around the wrong sort of influences.  I will not be afraid. Okay, I will try not to be afraid.  "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Those words can convict us or save us.

Holy God, I do feel little and afraid. Come in this house and change my heart. Amen.
