Exodus 34:33-35
When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face; but whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would take the veil off, until he came out; and when he came out, and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, the Israelites would see the face of Moses, that the skin of hisExodus  face was shining; and Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

I saw an amusing piece today about how people would talk with great male leaders in history if they were women.  When I read these verses, I thought...hmmm, if Moses were a woman, the people in this situation might say, "Why, Moses, you are positively glowing! Are you pregnant?"  The male/female thing aside,  when good stuff happens it shows on our face for others to see.  It shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone that standing in the presence of the Lord is a shining moment.  It may fade because we let it, but we know where that shining countenance is born. "I like your toga, Moses, is that new?"

Shine on us today, Lord. Amen
