I John 3:16-18
We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another. How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help? Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.

In this Information Age, we have no excuses for not knowing, not seeing a person in need of help. We are all a part of a culture that makes sure that images are posted. For some of us, our new first instinct is to take a picture than to run to or for help. I can't help but wonder if we are creating a new wave in the future of those who will face the end of their earthly lives filled with regret - those who will say, "I wish I had loved the people in the pictures as much as I loved taking the pictures." Thankfully, we have time today to see the world's need and offer what we have for the sake of Jesus. It is never too late to get love right. Let's picture ourselves being Jesus today.

Holy God, help us to see clearly and to love outrageously today. Amen.
