Acts 8:17
Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

An oxymoron is a combination of words that seem to contradict each other, such as "slow jet", "cruel kindness" or more recently, "presidential candidates." As I stand completely in the tecnological age, I am still amused by the phrase "wireless connection."  I marvel at the human minds ability to imagine and produce a genre of media like the cell phone that both unites and divides us in how we use it. We collectively still crawl like babies in this new wonderland of vehicles that change as quickly as we get our hands on them.  The Gospel from the first bright sunrise of Easter to this day is communicated one person to the next. It can feel slower than a dial up modem. We are called to move through our holy lives looking for open windows into which we can reach and make human contact so that God can use the stuff of us as the vehicle for the power of the Spirit. The word made flesh, the Spirit received through hands...contradictions that make us whole.

Precious Lord, take our hand, lead us on.  Amen.
