John 17: 22-23
The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Where do you feel division? In what area of your life are you most aware of a fracture? I see it everyday on the side street I take to get to work each day. I push the gas pedal on my car and drive on the road that carries me between two neighborhoods that are right next to each other and a million miles apart. I don't know how to love those neighbors and they don't know how to love me. We share a zip code and very little else that would compel us to play with one another as if we needed a nudge like reluctant children. There is something within me that resists convincing myself that I just don't care. The fact that it matters is a testimony to God's Spirit relentlessly calling us together. God doesn't stop calling. We just come up with creative ways to pretend we can't hear.

We pray for our neighbors and ourselves, Lord. Help us to find a way. Amen.
