I Corinthians 9:23
I do it all for the sake of the gospel, so that I may share in its blessings.

I believe that God so loved this world - every person, every toad, every long-legged bird that sparkles in the morning sun of the marshes, every whiskered alarm clock - that God would do anything to keep it as a delight forever. I believe that the take-over of the powers of heaven have begun and that the light of the Kingdom come is poking underneath stuck doors and dusty windows. This kingdom light co-exists with our hurt, fear, pain, and sorrow but it is here. That is the gospel. That is the good news. Just being able to write those words to you this morning splashes a blessing to be shared. It is why I get up in the morning and why I try, though at times unsuccessfully, to get a good night's sleep. This day, my friends, rejoice and believe in the Gospel and may you see the world and everything in it today glistening with a new light - even if it is just a flash of light - enjoy!

Splash the light of your present kingdom into the eyes of our hearts, Lord. Amen.
