Romans 16:25-26
Now to God who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but is now disclosed, and through the prophetic writings is made known to all the Gentiles, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith

Mysteries. A Robert Frost poem has been walking through my head the last few days entitled “Revelation” It goes like this “We make ourselves a place apart behind light words that tease and flaut but oh the agitated heart ‘Til someone finds us really out. ‘Tis pity if the case require or so we say that in the end we speak the literal to inspire the understanding of a friend. And so with all the babes that play at hide and seek to God afar, so those who hide too well away must speak and tell us where they are.” At Christmas God revealed the great mystery to us - the face of God- and it looked a lot like you and me. Now the next step of growth is ours to take out of hiding into whatever God has in store for us.
****************
You who did not hide from us, coax us from our hiding place. Amen
