Psalm 32:7-8
You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with glad cries of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

One of the best pieces of advice came to me as a teenager. I was sitting in the dark of a movie theatre watching the scene in "Camelot" in which the boy who would be King Arthur asks his mentor, Merlyn "What do you do for sadness?" And Merlyn answers, "Learn something." That advice has never failed me. It led me to have a fascination in a thousand things that give me great joy. It led me to revel in the masterpiece and mystery of people I have met. It led me to learn how desparately I needed a Savior and to the Savior himself. The saddest people I know, including other Christians, are those who believe there is nothing more to learn.

Holy God, what chapter are we on?  Amen
