Psalm 30: 4-5
Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

I read an article about how human beings are not getting enough sleep and how damaging the lack of it is to our health and well-being. Kept me up all night thinking about it.  I punch the pillow, sauté myself from side to side, and assume the sleep position, but I can't will myself to sleep. Like a seed planted in a pot, I cannot will myself to grow. I can only be in the right place and the right time to do so.  The joy that comes in the morning is very often the discovery that I actually slept. That sleep was a grace. And the day is immediately off to a God start.

Good Lord, it's morning!  Amen.
