This you learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, and he has made known to us your love in the Spirit.

Our congregation is experimenting with a different worship gathering on Monday evenings. It is based on the first-century gatherings that we get a glimpse of in Acts 2:42 - prayer, fellowship, teaching, breaking of bread. Sometimes getting back to the basics is a good way to remember that the good news of Jesus Christ spread from one person to the next. There is power in the presence of another fellow servant. The church through the centuries got cluttered under a pile of its own sense of power. Every 500 years or so we seem to have a yard sale and discover what is important again. People who like Epaphras stood in the presence of others and shared the good word are the foundation of the Christian church. So the question of the day is....are we building on the foundation or increasing the clutter?
