Psalm 145: 8-9
The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made.

There is a person I know who tells me she sits with a cup of tea each day and reads ELOGOS. She has been doing this for years. This kind lady sips her cup of tea. Yes, one can gulp a glass of cold tea....but hot tea forces one to slow down and savor the warm and the flavor and eventually the moment. In the space created by the tea, she takes in the Word of the Lord and the far more humble words of a Lord's servant with whom she is familiar. I think the world could use more gentle spaces created in time by hot cups of tea, gentle people, and love in whatever form the Lord offers it to us.

For cups of tea and all the goodness that you pour into it for us, Lord, we give you thanks. Amen.
