Psalm 89
I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations.
I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens.
You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to my servant David:
‘I will establish your descendants forever, and build your throne for all generations.’”

I cannot understate the level of crisis facing the Church in this time. We have a generation reaching adulthood who are hungry for community, grace, moral code and a sense of purpose. And the rest of us, who have eaten at the banquet of previous times, are the least equipped generation in recent Christendom to bake and deliver the Good News of God which offers the food they crave. Neither generation listens well, speaks well or admits errors. We are celebrating the 500th anniversary of the last great Reformation as we stand on the fault line that we ourselves have created. The world is shaking. The only really good advice I can offer is to find something true. Hang on tight. Find your words to name this truth. Shout that truth out to anyone shaken enough to hear you. Here is a hint: GOD IS LOVE!

God is love. Amen.
