Psalm 34:8-9
Taste and see that the Lord is good; happy are they who trust in him!
Fear the Lord, you that are his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.

Today is All Saints Day. We stand at that thin place and press our hands against the shadowed wall that separates us from the saints who have gone before us.  We have been carried piggy-back into our lives of faith by those with the courage to believe in a reality greater than our intellect can prove or our deepest wish can imagine.  Our saints have loved with muscles.  They have been big enough to remain humble.  They have been bold enough to stand between the weak and the bully.  They have led quiet lives of daily patience.  They have laughed louder in the face of struggles than any noise the world can make.  Though they are separated from us by death, by the grace of God, they live and complete the unbroken circle of God's relentless love.

For all the saints, who from their labors rest.  Amen
