Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy  burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for  I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my  yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

It doesn't make  much sense to trade one burden for another. My burden is unwielding, cumbersome, impossible for one person to hold all at once. The yoke of Jesus' burden is no  less heavy and it is still impossible for us to carry alone, but Jesus' burden
comes with Jesus himself. And that makes all the difference.

Lord, keep us from becoming so attached to our burdens that we don't trust  your cross or have room in our arms to hold your weary ones.  Amen.
