Matthew 28:16-20
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

It is the grand and glorious ending of Matthew's gospel.  It never ceases to amaze me that Jesus said these grand and glorious words to those who worshiped him and to some who doubted him.  Jesus had given the best of himself during his ministry. He gave all of himself at his crucifixion.  He made every attempt to ease doubters after his resurrection.  There comes a time, however, when that step of faith needs to be taken.  The time comes to "Go and tell the story and make disciples."  The time comes to believe that Jesus is truly with us and good for the long haul.  Yes, some doubt. Heck, we all do sometimes.  The doubt is less important than what our next step will be.

Holy God, guide our next step and give us the faith to take it.  Amen.
