No matter where we live, water for life and water management is crucial to how long and how well we will live in that place. The search for signs of life on other planets is a search for water. To scorn a source of water is a foolish act. To scorn a source of water and build a collection system that is flawed from the start is life-threatening. The prophet's urgency for the sake of the people of God was not overstated. Before we launch off to fashion our own philosophies in the name of our independence, we are called to weigh which is the greater threat to our freedom. Is it the God who holds the fountain of living water or the leak that we can never seem to fix.
