Matthew 13:23
But as for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”

The parable of the sower and the seed is itself a testimony to its message.  This teaching tale is rich with a crop of meaning.  The more one lingers over it, the more the words, like seeds, settled deeper into the soil of our souls. It comforts with the word that the sower keeps sowing. It convicts with the question of what kind of soil are we?  We can't create the seed or the growth but we can receive it well or lightly or not at all.  We are in a storm surge of words in this present age. But as with all the generations before and after us, we must learn anew how to listen for God's Word.

Keep sowing, Lord, keep sowing. Amen.
