John 12:20-21
Now among those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and said to him, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”

"Sir, we wish to see Jesus."  No kidding.  Between bad far-sightedness, failing near-sightedness, and glasses that don't seem to understand computer-length, seeing anything can be a daily struggle. Between a world filled with cruelty, growing poverty, deepening despair, just seeing hope is a courageous thing.  But something there is within us that continues to rage against the darkness and reach with hope.  "Oh, there you are, Jesus.  I just caught a glimpse of you in the last place I would ever think to look. Me."

Shine, Jesus, Shine.  Amen.
