When I remember you in my prayers, I always thank my God because I hear of your love for all the saints and your faith toward the Lord Jesus. I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective when you perceive all the good that we may do for Christ.

Philemon is more of a "post-a-note" than is a "book." Paul would probably be shocked to discover such a little correspondence included in the canon of scripture. But it is there for us to read because there are flavors of love and grace to be tasted in licking the bowl of this little letter. We might take a lesson from it to use every opportunity to extend a word to encourage one another. It is something to consider as we tweet, text, and status our communications throughout the world.

May we this day perceive all the good that we may do for Christ. Amen.
