Psalm 14:1-2
Fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is no one who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.

Most of the people I encounter on their spiritual journey fall into three basic categories along a spectrum: 1- God is good. Talk with him all the time.  2- God,I have no time for you right now so just keep chasing me around.  3. - I am not talking with God right now. I am not entirely sure if he is paying attention.  There are those I rarely encounter on the far ends of that spectrum: Those who are convinced there is no God and Those who are convinced that they are God.  Those folks on the far ends of the spectrum circle around and chase each other.  Seeking God may have its ups and downs but there is a wisdom and a truth in the seeking.  We acknowledge who we seek and we acknowledge that who we seek is still a mystery to us in many ways.  Those who give up on the mystery end up running in circles. Those who find the mystery inviting and intriguing enjoy the quest and gain wisdom along the way.

Holy God, we know your grace and seek your face. Amen.
