Psalm 107:19-22
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress; he sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from destruction. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind. And let them offer thanksgiving sacrifices, and tell of his deeds with songs of joy.

Talk show hosts with live audiences know what words and phrases will get a response those watching.  It is usually something along the lines of "Mom and country and apple pie.....am I right?" and the audience nods and applauds.  The one phrase I know that evokes a response even in subtle smiles or gestures is: "We all have much to be thankful for."  No matter where we are on our journey of faith, we understand that when we have faced difficult times, help came in a variety of forms and we didn't do anything in particular to deserve that help.  We all have the strings to sound thanksgiving. It is good to let others hear them.

We give thanks to you, O Lord. Amen.
